Celebrate the beginning of a new cycle in a different way. In a very special place surrounded, the heart of the Pyrenees, in full tranquility, practice daily meditation, yoga and meditative hiking.

Celebrate with us this moment of rest and retreat, in which we honor the wisdom that Mother Nature offers us. During winter, she keeps all her knowledge and potential in her seeds.

We will celebrate life and how in everyday life and in every moment we have the possibility within us to be better than yesterday.

We will have special workshops, yoga classes, movement sessions, meditative walks and an amazing New Year’s Celebration!

ACTIVITIES DESCRIPTION:

Yoga classes are for all levels of practice. The sessions combine Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga principles, as well as movement and mobility exercises.

The morning sessions are usually are more dynamic and the evening ones are more gentle, after the long meditative hikes.

Yoga classes are progressive, variations for different levels of practice and particular limitations are always offered.

Meditative walks and hikes are esencial practices in our retreats. They are very simple and accesible for everyone. The meditative walks and hikes help us to understand, through experience, our deep connection with nature.
It makes us notice in each step and in each breath, that the movement and energy that exist inside us it is just the same as the movement and energy that exists out there. Nature is our greatest teacher, silence and deep listening helps us enrich the experience She offers.

There will be a daily 90 minute meditative walk in nature, opening the senses and developing mindfulness.

Two days will be entirely dedicated to meditative hiking, starting just after breakfast and coming back for a gentle yoga session. It is a perfect opportunity to enjoy the wonders of the the Ordesa National Park or surrounding areas. If the weather allows it, we will have one longer excursion with snowshoes.

What you will learn will not only be useful for the holidays, we will also share tricks to give everyday dishes a creative touch and make ordinary life something extraordinary.

Vegetarian cuisine can be simple and fit our taste buds. No need to use endless exotic products to eat well.  We are surrounded by good quality ingredients, traditional in our cuisine that can easily appeal to everyone.

Therefore, we will cook as far as possible with organic products, local and in season.

A beautiful movement practice which helps us develop mindfulness and cultivate a connection between body-mind-environment. It can also be understood as a dynamic meditation practice in which we develop our ability to listen in a holistic way. Listening with real sensivity and opening all of our senses and the pores of our skin, paying attention to ourselves, those around us and the environment. The main objectives of this practice are to listen to the world around us with our skin and finally, to understand the body as a holistic entity made up of many different yet interdependent parts.
In Sanskrit, Sat means truth and Sang means group or community.

Satsang is a gathering to share our concerns, questions, doubts our our deepest insights. It is also a time to meditate together, contemplate nature and sing meditative songs or mantras.

Karma Yoga is Yoga in action = finding skillfulness and integration in action.

We bring the principles of Yoga in everything we do. We invite you to practice Karma Yoga by helping us with simple tasks of the house as fetching water from the fountain, chopping vegetables, drying dishes, etc.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS

Katya Ríos KalyaniKatya Ríos

Katya found in yoga a way of life, a system for self-exploration, providing her with constant support on her path. Currently she continues to deepen her practice with teachers such as Matthew Sweeney, Boris Georgiev, James Boag among others. In early 2014 Katya underwent further asana training with Bharath Shetty and got a 500 RYT teaching certification (Hatha yoga, Vinyasa, and Therapeutic yoga). In 2009, she got her teachers’ training certificate from the International Sivananda Vedanta Organization. Later, after having spent three years working in yoga centers and ashrams from the same organization in Buenos Aires, Toronto, and Quebec, she took an advanced teacher training course in India (500 RYT).

Daniel Benito PoDaniel Benito Po

Yoga Alliance RYT 500 (Yoga)

Co-director of Casa Cuadrau, Dani is a yoga, meditation, and meditative hiking instructor and an ecological builder. Following several consecutive trips to India, he completed his yoga teacher training with Bharat Shetty (RYT 500). Dani’s meditation practice is based on Buddhist teachings received from Tich Nath Han (Zen) and S.N. Goenka (Vipassana). He has also developed his own open meditation practice with Open Dharma. Having studied technical architecture in Barcelona, Dani worked in the construction and theater industries, and also as a yoga instructor.

David ViñualesAnna Carboneras Girgas

Anna is a physiotherapist and a self-taught cook. Trained in physiotherapy and specialized in urogynaecology, she combines her work with cooking. She has always been passionate about cooking and good food. She lives in a house in Baix Empordà, that has a large kitchen where she can experiment with and investigate food. She shares her knowledge in the form of workshops, in Verges , Barcelona and Vió. Her culinary research is premised on the use of local, organic,and fresh products easy to find and that everyone can easily have in their kitchen.

Carma Torrent Casa Cuadrau Yoga & DanceCarme Torrent 

Carme studied and worked in architecture. In the dance field, an important part of her experience comes from the Body Weather Laboratory, a dance practice developed by the Japanese dancer Min Tanaka, with whom she has collaborated several times. She has also been developing a way of exploring and listening to the tactile capacity of the body through the regular practice of Seitai (Katsugen-undo and Yuki) and training in shiatsu and movement with Akinobu Kishi (Seiki).

-Yoga retreats are undertaken in a toxin-free environment with no tobacco or alcohol.

Everyday from the end of the evening Satsang up until before lunch the following morning, we cultivate joyful silence in the house. This deep silence is very healing for calming the mind and being in peace with ourselves, allowing us to deeply listen to ourselves. We will have a restful sleep and the next day we will enjoy the silence with mental clarity during our asana practice, meditation and other activities. Breakfast will be taken mindfully and in silence. By participating in this period of joyful silence we will be supporting each other in our practice.

Throughout the afternoon we will enjoy conscious speaking and deep listening, which will allow us to get to know each other in a more authentic way.
