The retreat starts on September 21st at 16h. There will be an introduction and opening, followed by a dinner and a meditation. The retreat finishes on September 24th after lunch, at 14:30h
An unforgettable experience
The second day we will venture on an exciting meditative route of 2 days through the mountains, which will allow us to discover its corners and secrets through our own experience and with the help of the explanations of Daniel Benito. He is a professional mountain guide, specialized in nature interpretation, as well as yoga and meditation instructor.
We will spend a wonderful night camping under the stars.
The last day, when we come back to the house, is reserved to rest and relax after the long trekking. We will recover and rest deeply through restorative yoga, deep relaxation session and guided meditations.
This will be a fascinating journey into Nature and into the understanding that we are Nature. An adventure that will leave us feeling renewed, full of enery and vitality.
The meditative walks and the long trekking help us to understand, through experience, our deep connection with nature.
This practice makes us notice in each step and in each breath, that the energy that exist inside us it is just the same as the energy that exists out there. Nature is our greatest teacher, silence and deep listening helps us enrich the experience She offers.
The night under the stars.
We will spend one night under the stars, in two-person tents, shepherd’s huts (without services of any kind) and, if weather is favorable, in bivouacs.
Everybody will carry their backpack with their personal equipment (clothes, sleeping bag, mat, etc ...).
The food and the tents and collective material (stoves, pots ...) will be carried by the guides and the team of Casa Cuadrau.
To a large extent, the weight you will carry depends how much you stick to the proposed “what to wear” list. If you limit yourself to this list and you carry light technical equipment, the backpack should not weigh more than 8-10 kg, including the weight of the food supplied by the team.
The trek is in silence
In the mornings, we will try to cultivate joyful silence, especially when walking. However, in the interpretative stops, breaks, etc., we will have time to share experiences.
In the morning there will be meditation sessions of meditation, sun salutations and pranayama to activate the body and the mind. Just before our picnic stop, we will do some meditative movement excercises, connecting with nature. And after each walking journey there will be a short session of yoga asanas to stretch, followed by a dinner and Satsang.
Everyday there will be guided meditation sessions, in the morning and before going to sleep. The best way to start and finish the day.
We practice simple techniques that are easy to carry on at home. We use universal elements to all of us as concentration objects, such as the breath, the body sensations, sounds, etc.
In Sanskrit, Sat means truth and Sang means group or community.
Satsang is a gathering to share our concerns, questions, and our deepest insights. It is also a time to meditate together, contemplate nature and sing meditative songs or mantras.
We bring the principles of Yoga in everything we do. We invite you to practice Karma Yoga by helping us with simple tasks during the trekking as fetching water, washing and drying dishes, helping to set up and take down the tents, etc.
The daily meditative treks will be achievable for all those who have an acceptable physical shape.
About the facilitators
Daniel Benito Po
Co-director of Casa Cuadrau, Dani is a yoga and meditation instructor and mountain guide, as well as an ecological builder. From a young age Dani felt deeply connected to the mountains and it was in the Pyrenees and the Himalayans where he discovered hiking to be a powerful meditation practice and a way of deepening his connection with nature. Having studied technical architecture in Barcelona, Dani worked in the construction and theatre industries, and also as a yoga instructor.
He was introduced to Butoh Dance, Body Weather and other movement- based practices under the guidance of Carme Torrent and Andrés Corchero, among other teachers. Following several consecutive trips to India, he completed his yoga teacher training with Bharat Shetty (RYT 500) and he continues deepening his yoga asana practice with Matthew Sweeney. Dani’s meditation practice is based on Buddhist teachings received from Tich Nath Han (Zen) and S.N. Goenka (Vipassana). He has also developed his own open meditation practice with Open Dharma.
In 2009, Dani moved to Vió to realise the dream he had been harbouring since 2006 of rebuilding and restoring a traditional Pyrenean building and turning it into a Yoga, Art and Nature retreat centre. A place where the practices he is passionate about can be shared.
Lean was born in 1987 in Argentina, in Comodoro Rivadavia, Patagonia, and when he was five, he moved to Spain with his family and spent his childhood in Burgos.
He loves travelling, meeting people, climbing mountains and being in nature ... and he had been climbing and hiking for long time, until one day he realised that all he wanted was to live in nature and follow his passion, sharing his love for the mountains with others, so he decided to leave Burgos and came to live in the Pyrenees. He has a training as a mountain guide. He is also a kid’s counsellor for holiday camps and he continues to learn and train...
Lean is one of the mountain guides on the meditative walks and hikes at Casa Cuadrau and he shares with great passion his knowledge of the flora and fauna, the environment, the traditions of the Pyrinean villages ...
Besides enjoying the mountains, Lean likes to capture special places, and to share his view of nature with people, he has created this

Katya found in yoga a way of life, a system for self-exploration, providing her with constant support on her path. Currently she continues to deepen her practice with teachers such as Matthew Sweeney, Boris Georgiev, James Boag among others. In early 2014 Katya underwent further asana training with Bharath Shetty and got a 500 RYT teaching certification (Hatha yoga, Vinyasa, and Therapeutic yoga). In 2009, she got her teachers’ training certificate from the International Sivananda Vedanta Organization.
