Retiro de acro yoga y asthangaThis weeks retreat offers you a chance to start your day amongst breath taking surroundings, in the beautiful, tranquil practice space of Casa Cuadrau with a Silent Meditation and a Yoga Asana class.

There will be the opportunity in the morning for mediative hiking in the Spanish Pyrenees (Ordesa National Park) and some days with a meditation and resting time by the river.

During the retreat there will be 3 Acroyoga workshops with Aude Péronne and Javier Pardo:

Acroyoga is Yoga, an art of living, shared with other people. The practise is built upon supporting each other, through sensitivity, sweetness, joy and playfullness.

There are two sides in the Acroyoga practise: The lunar side and the solar one.

Acroyoga in nature Casa Cuadrau RetreatThe lunar side consists in a series of gentle shared asanas, therapeutic flights and thai massage.

The solar side consists in more active asanas and technical workshops to deepen the understanding of certain postures and more active flights.

The flights will be built and shared between 3 persons: a base, a flyer and a spotter. These 3 main characters make it possible to experience yoga postures up in the air safely.

The connection between the solar and the lunar side is settled in harmony, a balanced integration of the seemingly opposites.

*Note: This practise is for everybody,  no prior experience is required.

Completing the day with a wholesome evening meal & preparing for bed, with a candle lit guided meditation session that ends with satsang that will set you up for a deep restful sleep.

Whenever something increases your experience of the Truth, it opens your Heart and quiets your mind. Conversely, whenever something,. such as a thought, fear, or judgment, limits or narrows your experience of the Truth, the Heart contracts and the mind gets busier. We are all equally endowed with this capacity to discriminate the Truth. Thus, the true teacher, or satguru, is within you, and satsang, or being with the Truth, is endless. You have always been here in the embrace of your true nature as aware, loving space. You have always been in satsang.” (description of endless satsang).

Katya found in Yoga a way of life, a system for self exploration providing her with constant support on her path. When she arrived in Vio she rediscovered her love and devotion for nature, aswell as a path on which she can continuously learn from her and be in tune with her.

Katya was born in Mexico City, but was in Buenos Aires where she immersed herself in the practice of Yoga and meditation which completely changed her interests. In January 2009 she got her teachers’ training certificate from the International Sivananda Vedanta Organization and later, after having spent 3 years working in the yoga centers and ashrams of same organization in Buenos Aires, Toronto and Quebec, she took an advanced teacher training course in India (500 RYT).

Katya enjoys teaching beginners and seniors, offering classes for all levels, in which each of them can feel confortable practicing at their rhythm and condition.

In early 2014 Katya underwent further asana training with Bharath Shetty and got a 500 RYT teaching certification (Hatha-Yoga, Vinyasa and Therapeutic Yoga), she continues deepening in yoga asanas with Boris Georgiev and Bharath Shetty. She also studies philosophy with James Boag, meditation and mindfulness from Thich Nhat Hanh teachings and Open Dharma.

Director of Casa Cuadrau, Dani is a yoga and meditation instructor and mountain guide, as well as an ecological builder. From a young age Dani felt deeply connected to the mountains and it was in the Pyrenees and the Himalayans where he discovered hiking to be a powerful meditation practice and a way of deepening his connection with nature. Having studied technical architecture in Barcelona, Dani worked in the construction and theatre industries, and also as a yoga instructor.

He was introduced to Butoh Dance, Body Weather and other movement-based practices under the guidance of Carme Torrent and Andrés Corchero, among other teachers. Following several consecutive trips to India, he completed his yoga teacher training with Bharat Shetty (RYT 500). Dani’s meditation practice is based on Buddhist teachings received from Tich Nath Han (Zen) and S.N. Goenka (Vipassana). He has also developed his own open meditation practice with Open Dharma.

In 2009, Dani moved to Vió to realise the dream he had been harbouring since 2006 of rebuilding and restoring a traditional Pyrenean building and turning it into a Yoga, Art and Nature retreat centre. A place where the practices he is passionate about can be shared.

ACTIVITIES DESCRIPTION:

  • Casa Caudrau Meditative HikingThe schedule may vary slightly during the week.
  • Yoga asana and Acroyoga practice for all levels.
  • Meditative Hiking: Daily 90 minute meditative walk in nature, opening the senses and developing mindfulness.
    One a week will be entirely dedicated to meditative trekking, starting just after breakfast and coming back for dinner. It is a perfect opportunity to enjoy the wonders of the the Ordesa National Park or surrounding areas. Swim in the river, meditate or relax in nature. Those days, because of the excursion there will be a restorative yoga class in the afternoon.
  • Karma Yoga: skillfulness in action. Let yoga support us in all we do. At Casa Cuadrau, we invite you to practice karma yoga by helping in simple tasks in the house like cooking, cleaning or gardening for 1 hr./day in a mindful, bodiful, senseful integrated way.
  • All activities are optional and can be modified to suit the group. To get the most of your stay, we recommend that you participate in all scheduled activities.

Casa Cuadrau Spring Yoga RetreatJOYFUL SILENCE

Everyday from the end of the evening Satsang until after breakfast the following morning, we cultivate a joyful silence in the house. This deep silence is very healing for calming the mind and allows us to be in peace so that we can listen deeply to ourselves. We will have a restful sleep and the next day enjoy the silence with mental clarity for our asana practice, meditation and the nourishing experience of a silent mindful meal, at least once a day. Each person participating in this period of joyful silence will be supporting each other in the practice.

We strongly recommend to come for one entire retreat, to deepen in the practice of yoga and get the full experience of the retreat. Your stay is as long as you wish.

MINIMUM GROUP: a minimum number of participants are required to run the retreats. If there are not the enough people, we will help arrange another retreat for you, or will provide a refund.
