Organize your event at Casa Cuadrau

Casa Cuadrau was born from a love story.

But not between two people.

It was between Daniel and a ruin that had stood for over a thousand years at the gates of Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park.

After an existential crisis, he decided to leave the city and follow a dream: to create a place where he could combine the practices that had given him back his zest for life.

In 2008, Daniel began the restoration of this ruin, living together with friends and volunteers in the old barn of the house. He worked through the long summer days, and in winter he nourished his personal practice in ashrams (monasteries) in India.

Since 2012 we have shared retreats with more than 2,500 people in this remote, almost abandoned village: Vió.

This is how the Casa Cuadrau project was born: an ecological retreat house for Yoga, Art and Nature.

Casa Cuadrau was the original name of this home for centuries, and we didn’t dare change that part of its history.

Casa Cuadrau was designed specifically for retreats.

Inspired by ashrams, monasteries and mountain refuges.

It is a house restored using ecological, local materials.

Our most sacred space — open, light-filled, and with the best views — is dedicated to meditative practices: yoga, meditation, qigong, tea ceremonies or dance.

  • Wooden hall of 82 m²
  • Maximum accommodation: 32 people
  • 8 private rooms and 2 shared dormitories (6 people each)
  • Main dining room with 16 chairs
  • Wooden patio and garden with stunning views, also with tables and chairs
  • Living and reading room
  • Private parking

A village that light reached in 1991.

The tiny village of Vió is located in the heart of the Pyrenees.

This left it suspended in time for many years.

Its inhabitants were self-sufficient for centuries. With the rural exodus of the 1960s, it became almost uninhabited.

It has an extraordinary microclimate and is surrounded by incredible mountains, including views of Monte Perdido from the yoga hall.

We now have easy access by car.

We are 3.5 hours from Barcelona, 2.5 hours from Zaragoza, and 40 minutes from Aínsa (Huesca).

*We can provide you with contacts for taxi, bus and minibus companies for your group.

We're told: "I've never seen a yoga hall with these views"

  • The hall: the most special space in the house, with an 82 m² wooden floor and the best views. We recommend yoga classes for a maximum of 24–26 participants, though we’ve hosted up to 30 yogis in a slightly cozier setup.
  • Yoga and meditation equipment: quality eco-friendly mats (Manduka), cotton bolsters, zafus, zabutons, meditation blankets, yoga straps and cork blocks.

  • The main dining room (16 chairs): has sliding windows and can be used as a terrace in summer, or as a space for theory workshops, meetings, etc.
  • Living and reading room: with a Yoga, Art and Nature library that can also serve as a dining room on rainy days.
  • Wooden deck patio: 63 m², set up for eating outdoors, resting, or holding a theory workshop. With an awning that can be opened or closed as needed.
  • Garden: with stunning views and 3 picnic tables. An ideal space for reading and enjoying nature and fresh air, or for outdoor workshops.

In summer, we take care of the kitchen

From June 15th to September 30th, we offer the space with food service.

We believe in the power of food as medicine, and it is an essential part of our retreats. The menus are designed and prepared with great care and attention to nourish on all levels.

  • We serve three meals a day.
  • We follow an energetic diet with an ovo-lacto vegetarian menu. We use minimal goat or sheep dairy products and organic eggs.
  • We suggest eating at least one meal a day in silence (breakfast is usually the best option) to practice mindful eating and listening to your body.
  • A low-carb menu is available. This option is ideal for those who want to do very intense physical work and need an extra supply of fats and protein.
  • We can also offer vegan or gluten-free menus.

In low season, you can rent the space for a minimum of 1 night (without meal service).

In high season (June 15 – September 30), our full team is working. The minimum stay is 5 nights, with a minimum group of 16 people.

This house is free of intoxicating or stimulant substances (including tobacco and alcohol).

This is not a suitable space for plant medicine ceremonies, mushrooms or similar practices, as there is no immediate medical assistance available if needed, and our insurance does not cover this type of situation.
