What people say about Casa Cuadrau

“For me the meditations were an eye opener. I didn’t think I had it in me to be able to be so calm and stop thinking. The guidance made it easy and I started looking forward to this down time. The meditative walks in stunning and dramatic countryside. Even the walk through the rain was wonderful!
The best yoga classes I have had- I ended up achieving much more than I thought I would and felt fantastic. It’s something I hope to be able to continue doing and I can’t wait for Katya’s classes online!
In general, I loved the retreat schedule, the fact that everything was planned out hour by hour, it felt like you were cared for and there was no need to think about anything which is exactly what I needed. I loved it and hope to be back one day.”

Sarah Dominey, UK (Yoga, Meditation & Hiking October Long Weekend)

“The greatest thanks for the beautiful and touching experience of peace, love and energy we got to feel being able to connect so truly with nature and ourselves… and with others also. It has been great to be able to start working again with this inner peace and attitude of thankfulness. I have the slow motion picture of clouds travelling on pyrenees mountain at Mondoto in my mind every day.”

Minna Tenhunen-Kejonen, Finland (Yoga, Meditation & Hiking Retreat)

“Casa Cuadrau was a very unique, beautiful and deep experience. I came to this lovely retreat and was fortunate to be hosted by Dani , Katya and the rest of the wonderful team. The amount of love and inclusion I got from the participants and the team was awesome. I learned more about myself as I reflected on life during the meditation, yoga, breathtaking hiking journeys and the eye opening stellar presentations by Juan Carlos were just amazing, two thumbs up.”

Issam Altawari, Kuwait (Yoga, Hiking and Our Place in the Universe)

“Attending my first official retreat, I found a magical place to relax discover and learn. More than being taught strict perspectives or spiritual trails, I was shown a way to live close to the nature, close to people and oneself.
Although I live with a strong physical disability, depending on a breathing machine, a wheelchair and permanent assistance, I was able to participate in all the programs of the week. With the openness of Katya and Dani and the whole warmhearted motivated crew of Casa Cuadrau I was carried several times a day up to the beautiful shala, enjoyed the lead but very free-minded meditation sessions, enjoyed the karma yoga time, I laid down on the grass while singing and watching the bonfire during the satsang… For the walking meditation and hiking routes I thought I wouldn’t be able to share, I was surprised by Dani and Lean who organized a hiking wheelchair for me and made me see the stunning reality of the pyrenees’ valleys with great engagement and passion.

It was an exceptional experience to feel that no matter in what condition or with which abilities you participate, in Casa Cuadrau you find acknowledgement for everyone, being free to discover you own horizons.”

Lea Vejnovic, Switzerland (Yoga, Meditation & Hiking Retreat)

“An incredible week filled with new sensations and experiences. The location is perfect for enjoying and building a closer relationship with nature. The food is delicious even for those who are not normally vegetarian. The conversations with other participants are deeper, more spiritual and profound than those you would normally have in your daily life. The workshops on ‘Our Place in the Universe’ allowed me to get a real sense of the relationship between myself and the rest of the cosmos. Overall conclusion: an experience to repeat!”

Alberto Lobo, Spain (Yoga, Hiking and Our Place in the Universe)

“I came to Casa Cuadrau to ‘disconnect’ (from stress, from my non-stop thinking, etc. What actually happened was that I ‘reconnected’ with myself, with my true nature. I reconnected with a whole range of sensations and experiences which I had previously left behind. All the while surrounded by the beautiful mountains and by people who are filled with love, wisdom and generosity. The meditative hikes were unbelievably beautiful and revealing, they made me realise just how disconnected I had become to nature. I loved the natural surroundings, the sensations I experienced while walking, the sounds, the smells, the colours … What a delight to walk in silence!! Om shanti.”

Ana Gisbert (Yoga, Hiking and Our Place in the Universe Retreat with Juan Carlos Escanciano)

“I can’t say thank you enough for the retreat experience! It was obvious that so much love, care and attention has gone into the house, the restaurant, and retreats, and it is such a beautiful and special place that it was impossible not to enjoy and learn on the retreat, and come away with such a profound sense of happiness and well-being. Thank you for opening up your space for so many other people to benefit. I will certainly come again!”

Dana Andrew, UK (Yoga, Meditation & Hiking Retreat)

“All in all a very joyful, mindful, beautiful experience. I’m still reaping the benefits. An excellent way to reconnect with oneself, with others, and with nature. You really have thought about everything, beautifully balanced to enable enough freedom, as well as an opportunity to learn, and grow, and stop, and think, and reconnect. Thank you!”

Cristina Catalinas, London, UK (Yoga, Meditation & Hiking Retreat)

“This is the second time I’ve been to Casa Cuadrau and I’m already looking forward to going back again! I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who wants to take some time out for themselves, to reconnect with their being or simply to relax and enjoy themselves and the special place that is Casa Cuadrau. The place, and the people who have created it, are filled with love and have a special way of sharing that love, not only through the practice of yoga asana, but also through simple tools to help you on your life’s journey. The classes are incredible, the hiking excursions are magnificent and filled with unexpected beauty, the food is healthy and delicious … the whole experience is a sensory delight! The bird song, the flowing water, and the scent and colours of the abundant forests all fill your heart with energy and life, enabling you to breathe in harmony, serenity and fulfillment. THANK YOU DANI AND KATYA for making this week’s holiday a very special one. Although it is over now, the experience continues inside me and, right now, in this present moment, I am still enjoying the benefits.”

María Jesús Martínez, Granada Spain (Yoga, Hiking and Mindful Eating Retreat)

“I experienced a most astonishing week, met wonderful people and only when arriving back home I was fully aware how peaceful and light hearted I felt after my visite to the Casa Cuadrau. You all did a wonderful job with endless devotion. Thanks to you, Katya and Daniel and to your great crew!!!”

Yvonne Ruckstuhl, Switzerland (Yoga, Hiking and the Voice as an object of Meditation)

“My husband and I had never practiced yoga or meditation before going to Casa Caudrau, so you can imagine we were a little apprehensive after booking the retreat this May. With an open mind we arrived at a stunning location and were welcomed by an amazing and inspirational team in Casa Caudrau. The combination of practicing meditation, trekking, yoga, silence, satsang, good eating and mediative walking will stay with us ever! After leaving the retreat we have kept up a lot of these practices in our everyday lives (as well as trying out some of the recipes) and we wouldn’t change a thing about the experience, it was inspirational and life changing! Both the retreaters and the karma yogi’s were truly inspirational, but above all we offer a huge thank you to Katya and Dani who have opened their home and hearts and are passing on their knowledge and teachings of meditation and yoga. This is an experience I would recommend to anyone especially if you are new to retreats, it is truly a life changing experience!”

Frances Skidmore, UK (Yoga, Meditation & Hiking Retreat)

“I was like in a family of like-minded people with whom I felt all the time enriched, having, at the same time, the so much needed space for inner reflection and silence. Katya and Dani have created a wonderful place of self exploration and growth close to the grand master – Nature – and within a community of people that are both wise and warm and above all, so authentic in their own yogic pursuit.”

Carmen Olariu, Rumania (Yoga, Meditation & Hiking Retreat)

“Go to Casa Cuadrau was one of my best decisions – if not the best – in this year so far. The location is absolutely fantastic, high in the mountains and part of a small remote village. The accommodation is perfect and the retreat itself was well-balanced. Enough free time to enjoy and enough guided activities to really feel you’re being supported in your journey. The meditative walking in the morning was for me an additional attraction to sign up, and it was simply beautiful. The culmination was the two-day trekking, challenging but so rewarding. And I’m not sure whether I just got lucky with the group, but it couldn’t have been better. A wonderful week which brought me home full of energy again. I would recommend it to anyone who likes hiking and wants to retreat from regular life with daily doses of healthy food.”

Kim Hartog, Netherlands (Yoga & Long Trekking Retreat)

“The retreat with Casa Cuadrau Yoga Art & Nature Retreats was excellent. I came back home as a new person. The place is just breathtaking, Katya and Dani are just wonderful people who have created a magical place. The food was fantastic as well as all other activities: meditation, yoga, hiking and the workshop about the stars. I would highly recommend it and intend to return next year!”

Luciana Futema, Sao Paolo Brazil (Yoga, Hiking and Nature: Our place in the Universe)

“I really had a life-altering experience at Casa Cuadrau. As a complete beginner to the philosophy and practice of yoga. I got a great introduction to many aspects in a way that I can reasonably incorporate in my life. My time there was invaluable! Plus, the food was absolutely amazing. Thanks to Dani, Katya and the incredible staff for a truly wonderful experience.”

Tanya Figueroa, USA (Yoga, Meditation & Hiking Retreat)

“I really enjoyed this yoga retreat at Casa Cuadrau Yoga Art & Nature Retreats. It is the best place to disconnect and reconnect with who we really are. This place is unique and I really feel the passion and the love from the owners of this place. I felt like at home, the yoga practice is great, the food is delicious and the people are great, there are so many places for hiking with beautiful surroundings…”

Olivier Hurtis, France (Yoga & Long Trekking Retreat)

“My wife and I chose the intensive yoga and meditation retreat because we both wanted something to shift our individual practices. Mine being far less than my wife’s, at only 1 hour before we came to Casa Cuadrau. The shift in Yoga happened and we both are still practicing most days, which has had such a profound impact on our lives. Our diet has changed and now we are vegetarian and we are both meditating daily. The shift for myself in meditation was very important to me because I used to meditate daily throughout my 20′s but have not done so for the last 12 years nearly. A surprising thing that I was presented with, was my fear of mountain walking. This did however, present me with a new challenge and once overcome, I found a new love and confidence to walk in the mountains where I was at first too fearful to go. Overall, a wonderful experience which we have shared with many many people since our return and we look forward to our next Casa Cuadrau experience.”

Roger Blackman, London (Intensive Yoga Course & Meditative Hiking)

In July 2014 I had the privilege of spending a week at Casa Cuadrau on a Yoga, Meditation and Hiking Retreat. Casa Cuadrau is a truly magical haven set in a breathtaking landscape in the Pyrenees close to Monte Perdido. On arrival you immediately feel the energy, passion and generosity of spirit with which Dani and Katya have renovated the house in which to welcome people to do yoga, meditate and enjoy the sights and sounds of the very beautiful Pyrenees. The week was a perfect balance of yoga, meditation, swimming in clear blue rivers, singing and hikes which were brought to life by Dani’s extensive knowledge of the local area, its nature and its history. I cannot recommend Casa Cuadrau and Dani and Katya more highly. It is an environment full of support, love and laughter and I came away feeling calm, re-invigorated and with definite plans to return to this paradise again in the future.”
