1. Casa Cuadrau Yoga, Art & Nature, in Vió (Huesca)
It’s one of the best-known yoga retreat centers in Spain. Located in Vió, within the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park, it hosts retreats practically year-round, except in winter. This eco-friendly building offers retreats in yoga, meditation, and hiking, and its menu is vegetarian. Among its upcoming workshops are a meditation and snowshoeing retreat during the May bank holiday weekend, and later that month, a silent retreat combining lying down meditation with yoga and meditative walks. This silent retreat runs from May 13th to 19th, and there’s also a women-only retreat from May 19th to 21st. The views are breathtaking, and the setting, nestled in the heart of the Pyrenees, couldn’t be a better place to forget everything except yourself.

Discover different ways to spend your holidays in Aragon. In the Huesca valley of Vio, there’s a place to unwind through yoga, meditation, and healthy food. Daniel and his family run “Casa Cuadrau,” a project that began eight years ago. “I left Zaragoza for Barcelona to study; now I’m a building surveyor and I’ve traveled a lot. That’s allowed me to rebuild this house from ruins,” Daniel explains to a reporter from the program. Ana has been spending her holidays here for ten days and says she’s noticed an inner change that she’ll feel even more when she returns to her routine.

Nature and Environment
In the heart of the Aragonese Pyrenees, at the gateway to Ordesa National Park, lies a hidden paradise. “A haven of peace and harmony in the heart of nature for those who wish to begin or deepen their practice of yoga and hiking,” explain Daniel Benito and Katya Ríos, the founders of Casa Cuadrau: a yoga, art, and nature center located in Vió, Huesca. Their program of activities includes, in addition to yoga instruction at all levels, hiking, relaxation, health workshops, cooking classes, organic farming, philosophy, and dance, among others. Their vegetarian restaurant, where guests can sample organic produce grown in their own garden, completes the establishment’s offerings.
“The house was completely in ruins, and I decided to renovate it following bioclimatic principles, using local materials such as stone, wood, treated sheep’s wool, etc.,” explains Daniel. With his own hands “and the collaboration of workers and volunteers from all over the world,” Daniel carried out the entire renovation of Casa Cuadrau.
